Londoners prepare to strip off for annual No Trousers Tube Ride

The No Trousers Tube Ride (or No Pants Subway Ride) is an annual event started in NYC in 2002 by Improv Everywhere – ‘a prank collective that causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places’.

It takes place sometime in January and sees an organised group of trouserless people riding the underground nonchalantly, amusing onlookers as they do so.

Since its inception the event has spread to Germany, France, Australia, Romania and beyond.

The reason organisers of the so-called ‘international celebration of silliness’ give for staging it?

Because it’s fun.
