EXPRESS, EMPOWER AND GET LOUD AT YOUTH WEEK IN CBCITY

Express your inner artist in a create and sip session, be empowered to take the next step in your career and get loud at an epic street festival with City of Canterbury Bankstown’s jam-packed line up of activities this Youth Week.

It’s a week-long celebration organised by young people, for young people, and this year, the theme is Express. Empower. Get Loud!

Young people aged 12-25 years are encouraged to take part in the activities running from Thursday 11 April-Sunday 21 April, which also include a fishing dreamtime journey with local elders, volleyball competitions with the PCYC and a scavenger hunt across the City.

Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said that the more than 65,000 young people living in the City make the community better and stronger.

“As I travel around our City, I come across so many talented and creative young people who prove how great it is to grow up in Canterbury-Bankstown,” Mayor El-Hayek said.

“Whether it’s their leadership, academics, sporting achievements or volunteer work, our youth are doing great things.

“Celebrating Youth Week is just one of the ways we acknowledge their contributions and help them thrive.

“These activities are designed to help young people meet likeminded individuals and navigate the challenges they so often face.

“I especially encourage all young people to come along to our Future Pathways Expo to get advice on taking the next step in their employment and education journey.”

This year, young people also have the opportunity to experience Youth Week behind the scenes, with volunteers needed to help out with running the events.
