Minister Sophie Cotsis Visits Arab Council Australia and Meets Community Leaders

Arab Council Australia (ACA) recently welcomed Sophie Cotsis MP, NSW Minister for Industrial Relations and Minister for Work Health and Safety, for a visit highlighting the important services and programs the organisation provides to Arabic-speaking communities across Sydney.

During the visit, Minister Cotsis met with ACA CEO Hassan Moussa, members of the Board and staff, taking the opportunity to learn firsthand about the organisation’s work and its ongoing commitment to supporting individuals and families within the community.

The Minister was briefed on a range of ACA services and initiatives, including family support, health and wellbeing programs, seniors’ services and other community programs designed to assist Arabic-speaking Australians and help individuals and families participate fully in Australian society.

The visit also provided an opportunity for ACA representatives to discuss the needs and challenges facing Arabic-speaking communities and the important role community organisations play in connecting people with essential services, information and support.

Hassan Moussa, CEO of Arab Council Australia, thanked Minister Cotsis for taking the time to visit the organisation, meet its team and listen to their experiences.

“We thank Minister Cotsis for taking the time to visit us, to listen and to connect with the people and programs that make ACA what it is,” Mr Moussa said.

“We look forward to continuing to work together to support and strengthen our community.”

The visit reinforced the importance of cooperation between government and community organisations in ensuring culturally and linguistically diverse communities have access to the services and opportunities they need to thrive.
