A woman has been charged after allegedly egging Prime Minister Scott Morrison at a Country Women’s Association event in Albury.
The 24-year-old protestor allegedly went up behind Morrison on Tuesday morning and tried to crack the egg, which then bounced off his head.
Morrison’s security team leapt into action and a 70-year-old woman was knocked to the ground.
The prime minister helped her up and later said on Twitter that she was his primary concern.
However, no injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, the protestor was taken to Albury Police Station where she was searched.
Police allegedly found cannabis on her.
She was charged with common assault and possessing a prohibited drug.
The Victorian woman was granted strict conditional bail to reappear at Albury Local Court on May 27.
The alleged attack appeared to echo the cracking of an egg on the head of right-wing senator Fraser Anning earlier this year.
