With just two days to go until the Federal Election on 3 May 2025, Australians have already begun shaping the nation’s future as early voting continues across the country. Pre-polling stations opened last week, giving voters the opportunity to cast their ballots ahead of election day.
Labor MP Andrew Charlton, who represents the diverse electorate of Parramatta, has reaffirmed his party’s commitment to delivering meaningful change for working families and everyday Australians. Speaking passionately, Charlton emphasised the values that define Parramatta, diversity, hard work, and optimism — and how these same values are essential to shaping a brighter future for all of Australia.
“I’m so proud to be the Member for Parramatta, a place that reflects the very best of Australia,” Charlton said. “The future of Parramatta is the future of our country. I want to keep being your voice in Canberra and continue delivering for this amazing community.”
Charlton acknowledged the struggles many local families are facing, especially with the rising cost of living. He outlined Labor’s practical initiatives aimed at providing immediate relief, including:
- Energy bill rebates to ease household expenses
- Cheaper medicines for families and pensioners
- Expanded bulk-billing, with 9 in 10 GP visits now fully covered
- A $8.5 billion investment in Medicare, marking the largest boost in over 40 years
- An increase to 4,800 bulk-billing practices, tripling current numbers and adding 18 million extra bulk-billed visits annually
“Labor built Medicare,” Charlton reminded voters, “and we’re proud to strengthen it, ensuring that seeing a GP only requires one thing — your Medicare card.”
Charlton also highlighted the government’s support for working families through child care savings, which allow more parents to return to work or study, confident their children are receiving quality early education.
“This is practical support that eases pressure today while building a stronger economy for tomorrow,” he said.
As the election draws near, Andrew Charlton’s message is one of unity and continued progress. With the support of the community, he aims to keep delivering policies that put people first and ensure a fair go for every Australian.
