HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE FIFTEENTH AVENUE UPGRADE DESIGNS

Designs for the Liverpool to Airport Transit Corridor, Fifteenth Avenue Project have been
released for public feedback, as planning and design work continues on this critical road
connection in Sydney’s west.
The designs, which outline the local access and movement changes, show how the
community will safely access, travel on and move around Fifteenth Avenue in the future.
The project is being designed to make the road safer, more accessible and easier to travel
while preparing for future growth.
To achieve this, there needs to be some changes to the way vehicles turn in and out of
local streets and driveways.
The first stage of the project will focus on a section of Fifteenth Avenue between
Cowpasture Road and Devonshire Road to allow for two traffic lanes in either direction,
walking and bike paths, and planning for a future bus transitway.
Key changes outlined in the design include:
• Six new traffic light intersections including dedicated turning lanes and pedestrian
crossings
• Left turn in, left turn out only access for all driveways and local roads including Herley
Avenue and Craik Avenue
• New connection to Browns Road north
• A link road to safely access the local shops at West Hoxton and Twenty Seventh
Avenue.
Current traffic volumes show about 22,000 vehicles use this stretch of road per day and
with volumes expected to double by 2036, these changes are critical for safety and future
performance.
To provide relief for locals sooner, and as part of this early engagement, the project is also
looking for feedback to reduce construction timeframes and better understand the local
environment.
The project is being fast-tracked as a priority project after a joint commitment from the
Albanese and Minns governments to invest $1 billion towards upgrade works.

When completed, the upgrades will enable Fifteenth Avenue to be a key connection
between Liverpool and the Western Sydney Airport precinct.
Designs for Fifteenth Avenue can be viewed on the ‘have your say’ website at Fifteenth
Avenue Upgrade | Transport for NSW and feedback can be provided between 11
November 2025 to 14 December 2025.
The community can also attend an online information session or talk to the project team in
person at one of the pop-up sessions in Austral. Details are provided on the website.
The project is on track to invite tenders for a design and construction contract next year,
ahead of major work getting underway in 2027.
