Under the banner “Syria of Love Unites Us”, the Syrian community in Australia came together in a highly successful social event that echoed a shared message: We are all committed to serving our beloved homeland, Syria, a nation that beats in our hearts with pride and affection.
The event was organised by the Union of Syrian Associations in Australia, including the Australian Syrian League, Australians for Syria, the Syrian Australian Business Network, along with other Syrian community organisations and leaders.
The gathering was held in honour of welcoming a distinguished delegation from Syria, featuring Mr. Zakaria Lababidi, Advisor at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Asia and Africa, and His Excellency Abdul Monemannan, the Syrian Ambassador to Indonesia. The celebration was also attended by Honorary Consul Mr. Maher Dabbagh, community leaders, and prominent members of the Syrian community across Australia.
During the event, Ambassador Annan addressed the audience, followed by an important and candid speech by Mr. Lababidi, who discussed the current situation in Syria and the efforts of the new government to uplift the nation and improve conditions for its citizens. He responded to questions from attendees with transparency, emphasising the positive role played by the Syrian diaspora worldwide.
The discussion left a strong and encouraging impression about the vision for a renewed Syria.. a Syria of hope.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the delegation expressed deep gratitude to the Syrian community in Australia for their warm reception. They encouraged everyone to continue contributing to Syria through support, assistance, and investment, affirming that every individual has a role to play in serving the homeland that unites all Syrians.
