A husband ran away from his wife with their winning lottery ticket – after the pair discovered they’d scooped $292,000 with it.
Local media reported that Wijak Wannaprasit, 34, and his wife Pornthida Chamnanwet, 23, won the life-changing amount – before agreeing to split the cash equally between them.
The pair, from Thailand, scooped 6 million THB (AU$292,000) and even went to a local police station to record their win.
However, the following day Wannaprasi allegedly told his spouse that he wanted 4 million of the 6 million THB, prompting an argument.
He then walked out of their home with the ticket and fled the scene, according to reports.
His wife then filed a complaint with the local police fearing her husband would cash the ticket and walk away with all the winnings.
Local media report the husband would face three years in prison if he was found guilty of misappropriating the winnings.
However, after the case was reported in local media the husband has now returned, saying he had not collected the winnings.
The couple are now back together according to reports and will collect their money from the state lottery office in due course.
