Opposition leader Anthony Albanese has labelled Defence Minister Peter Dutton a “boofhead” in a heated exchange during Question Time.
The Labor leader got up on a point of order following an answer from Prime Minister Scott Morrison, which lead Mr Dutton to also stand up in his capacity as Leader of the House.
“Hang on. Sit down; you sit down boofhead,” Mr Albanese said.
“You sit down; I’ve got the call.”
Speaker Andrew Wallace then ordered Mr Dutton to take a seat, where he shouted at Mr Albanese about him having a ‘glass jaw’, a term used to describe a boxer vulnerable to knockout blows.
‘If there was a standing order on glass jaws he would be in order,’ Mr Dutton quipped, prompting laughter from Barnaby Joyce in the background.
Mr Dutton sat down but continued to shout ‘glass jaw’ across Parliament whenever Mr Albanese was speaking.
